The Corruption and Crime Commission: Unmasking the role of lawyers in corruption investigations
Wednesday, 15 May, 10.30am-11.30am, Corruption and Crime Commission, Level 5/45 Francis St, Northbridge, 6003. Free event.
The CCC may investigate allegations of corruption (serious misconduct) by public officers using particular powers to obtain information. The Commission may examine a witness and require the production of records. Usually an examination is conducted in private and evidence given remains secret. For Law Week, the Commission will re-create a portion of a mock examination in a fictitious public officer. The Hon John McKechnie AO, KC will preside over the mock examination and explain the various roles lawyers play during the course of an investigation and in the examination room to assist the Commission reach an opinion as to whether serious misconduct has occurred.

Your participation will help Law Access to continue providing a vital pro bono referral service for vulnerable Western Australians facing legal problems where no funded legal assistance is available.
