Accreditation Programmes

As a practitioner, you may wish to seek recognition of your specialist skills and one way to achieve this is to become an Accredited Specialist in your area of practice. The Law Society offers the opportunity to become an Accredited Specialist in the areas appearing below.

Specialist Accreditation in Family Law and Wills and Estates Law

The Law Society offers Specialist Accreditation in Family Law and Wills and Estates Law.  The Specialist Accreditation Programme provides practitioners the opportunity to be recognised formally as having a higher level of competence and enhanced skill levels  in their field, a high standard of professionalism, and a commitment to ongoing expertise development through continuing legal education.  Accredited Specialists are provided with the Accredited Specialist logo and branding to use on their marketing material.

Law Society members who seek Specialist Accreditation in another area of practice will be assisted with a referral from the Law Society to undertake an Accreditation programme through one of the following interstate Law Society’s:

Mediation Accreditation

The Law Society is a Recognised Mediation Accreditation Body (RMAB) under the National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS).  The Law Society also maintains a Panel of Mediators and a Panel of Arbitrators to assist the legal profession and the public locate the services of a mediator or arbitrator.

Quality Practice Standard Accreditation

The Quality Practice Standard (QPS) recognises legal practices that have developed and adhere to standard internal processes designed to provide a consistent approach to management and to improve customer satisfaction.
