This webinar will provide an introduction to the law and practice of restraining orders, tailored for legal practitioners working in family, criminal, or general legal practice.
Participants will gain an introductory understanding of the relevant legal frameworks, mechanisms for early resolution and the procedural challenges commonly encountered in restraining order matters. The webinar will also address the intersection between civil protection orders and broader issues of family and domestic violence.
Presenters are lawyers from Sussex Street Community Law Service’s whose specialised legal services assist Respondents to FVROs. This is part of an early intervention model aimed at improving Respondent’s understandings to assist with compliance of court orders to reduce the risk of further harm to the Victim-Survivor.
