Law Week YLC Panel & Networking Event

Tough Conversations in the WA Legal Profession

Bookings are now open for the Law Week Panel and Networking Event, hosted by the Young Lawyers Committee.

We know that there continues to be systemic issues affecting young lawyers within the legal profession. These include the impacts of high-performance expectations, experiences of harassment, bullying and discrimination, and a resistance to creating fit for purpose working conditions. We also know that proactively taking action to raise these issues can be extremely difficult and confronting for individuals, leading to greater amounts of stress and anxiety.

This special Law Week forum brings together a panel representing the different sectors of the legal profession to tackle strategies for engaging in these tough conversations. It aims to provide a guide for young lawyers on how to go about raising these issues and a lesson for established practitioners on how to provide an environment that encourages concerns being heard and acted upon.

Chaired by Thomas Coltrona, Chair of the YLC, our dynamic panellists include –

  • The Hon Dr Andrew Lu AM, President, Mental Health Tribunal
  • Rachel Lee, Head of Legal – Employee Relations, BHP
  • Nicola Ashford, Director, ASB Law
  • More to be announced…

FREE to attend, we invite young lawyers and the broader profession to join us for conversation, collegiality, canapes and refreshments.

Book now to secure your place via the Member Portal to the right of the page, or use the online form below.
