The Law Society of Western Australia is saddened to hear of the passing of Robert Meadows KC, a highly valued and longstanding supporter of the Law Society. Law Society President Rebecca Lee said, “Mr Meadows became a key member of the Law Society from 1980, serving on various committees. He held a two-year term as President from 1986-87 of the Law Society and was also a Life member. He was always a pleasure to deal with and will be missed. On behalf of the Law Society Council, our members, and staff, I extend our deepest sympathy to the family.”
Mr Meadows KC was appointed Solicitor General for Western Australia, a post he held from 1995 to his retirement in 2013 and in 1998 was appointed a King’s Counsel.
He also served the profession in various roles through the Law Council of Australia, including becoming President in 1993. He contributed significantly to the community and legal profession of Western Australia, and Australia, and was very much respected.
