The Law Society Congratulates Judge Hylton Quail on Reappointment as Children’s Court President

Friday, 11 March 2022

The Law Society warmly congratulates District Court Judge Hylton Quail on his appointment as President of the Children’s Court of Western Australia for a second term, as announced today by State Attorney General, the Hon John Quigley MLA.

Law Society President Rebecca Lee said, “On behalf of the Law Society and the wider WA legal profession, I congratulate Judge Hylton Quail on his Honour’s reappointment as President of the Children’s Court of WA, this time for a term of three years. The Children’s Court of Western Australia performs important work, dealing with offences alleged to have been committed by young people aged 10 to 17 years and also with protection and care applications for children under the age of 18 years. In the time of COVID-19, continuity in the role of President has a distinct benefit for the community.

His Honour is a former President of the Law Society and a valued and respected life member of the Law Society. The Society looks forward to continuing to work with Judge Quail in this important role.”
