As the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to develop, it is important that we put in place measures to ensure that the risks to our members, staff, volunteers, contractors and visitors of contracting or transmitting the virus are carefully managed.
The Australian Government’s Department of Health (AGDH) has established a Coronavirus (COVID-19) Health Alert on the matter. See link below:

Until further notice, the following shall apply to all Law Society of Western Australia members, staff, volunteers, contractors plus visitors and and non-members who attend our premises or events:
If you or a member of your household or staff have been to a country listed under the “Who is at Risk” section of the AGDH website please take the necessary precautions as set out under the “If you are at Risk” section and please DO NOT attend any of the Law Society’s offices, events, or facilities including the Old Courthouse Law Museum.
The Australian Government also considers a number of other countries to be at higher risk for COVID-19. These are set out on the AGDH website here.
If you are returning from any of these countries, you should follow the advice of the AGDH as set out on their website. Please DO NOT attend any of the Law Society’s offices, events or facilities including the Old Courthouse Museum during this time and follow the precautions set out on the AGDH website.
Upcoming Events including CPD Seminars
As an organisation, drawing directly on current advice and information provided by both Federal and State government authorities, the Law Society will until further notice continue to deliver all scheduled meetings and events as per the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPCC) recommendations with regard to public events.

We continue to monitor this situation closely and recommend you monitor the AGDH website to ensure you are aware of any other countries including neighbouring countries that may be added.
