Elder Law and Succession

The Elder Law and Succession Committee considers issues relevant to law reform and government policy relating to elder and succession law.

The Committee liaises with the Law Council of Australia National Elder Law and Succession Committee, of which the Chair is the Western Australian representative. The Committee also liaises with the Supreme Court of Western Australia Probate Committee and various government committees in relation to law reform. The Committee advocates for necessary reforms of the Wills Act 1970 (WA), the Administration Act 1903 (WA) and the Guardianship and Administration Act 1990 (WA) and contributes to national reform on the harmonisation of succession law in Australia.
