The Law Society's State Election Campaign 2025 - Better Access to Justice for All Western Australians
The Law Society is pleased to present its State Election Campaign 2025 ‘Better Access to Justice for All Western Australians’.
As the voice of the legal profession in Western Australia, a key focus of the Law Society is advocacy on behalf of the legal profession and the community to enhance access to justice and the rule of law.
The input of our members is essential to identifying key issues and including these in our advocacy agenda. Our standing committees guide our advocacy work through sharing specific expertise, experience and perspectives. The Law Society undertook a consultation process with our members, our standing committees, our Council and various legal stakeholders between April and September 2024 to develop this 2025 Campaign.
The result is a Campaign focused on legislative and policy reforms which help to ensure everyone is treated fairly and equally before the law. This includes a legal system that operates effectively and efficiently for the benefit of all, especially the most disadvantaged members of our community – children, victims of crime, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and members of the LGBTIQA+ community.
The State Election Campaign 2025 has been released to the major political parties and we will publish any responses we receive on our website.
