The MHT safeguards the rights of all involuntary mental health patients in WA. As the accountability agency , it is responsible for restricting and restoring the liberty of people who are treated under the Mental Health Act 2014. Every involuntary patient has a right to have their treatment status reviewed by the MHT. The Tribunal also hears applications to administer specified treatment in authorised settings. The OCP acts as the peer agency, promulgating and monitoring compliance with guidelines and standards that the MHT must consider when making determinations in matters within its jurisdiction. Both the OCP and the MHT are independent statutory bodies operating under the umbrella of the MHC. Join senior representatives from these agencies as they discuss their functions during a time of significant demand for mental health services.     Disclaimer: This seminar is subject to change.
