Human Rights for Everyone: A Discussion on the Intersection Between Federal and State Based Human Rights Legislation

This seminar will consider the current Parliamentary Inquiry into Australia’s Human Rights Framework and in particular focus on the need for both federal and state based human rights legislation in Australia.

It will encompass discussion of the issues relating to implementation of Australia’s international human rights obligations in our federal system and will consider proposed models for both federal and state-based legislation and the need for consistency between these legislative frameworks.
